Someone, Somewhere

Someone, somewhere, is leaving this World at the very time I am writing these words.

Someone is crying.

Someone is celebrating.

Someone is on a stage receiving rapturous applause.

Someone is reeling from a gunshot.

Someone is taking their first steps.

Someone is closing their eyes and holding their breath as the trauma takes hold.

Someone is marveling at how the flower grows.

Someone is praying to a God they don’t believe in.

Someone is signing a document that will set someone else free.

Someone is savoring the taste of the meal or the lover.

Someone is taking the photograph.

Someone is finally walking away.

Someone is choosing the fabric.

Someone is rejecting the application.

Someone is wondering how the bill will be paid.

Someone is hearing that the treatment didn’t work.

Someone is running through a field.

Someone is pleading for justice.

Someone is wondering how we hold all of this. Any of this.
