Beautiful Blur {Poem}

Can I stay here awhile
Can I crawl into the shadows
And let darkness cover the wounds
That are open and raw

Can I hide here awhile
Can I pause for long moments
Until I find some redemption
Until it’s safe to exhale

Can I forget who I am
Can I leave all my troubles
And just let my heart shatter
The way that it wants

Can I surrender completely
Can I finally set free
The silent screams
That submerge all else

Can I unlearn the hurt
Can I take off the weight
Can I step out of my life
And climb into yours

Can I take what is needed
To soften the edges
Until the sharpness mellows
To a beautiful blur
